Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how NameProf ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use nameprof.com (the "Service"). If you have questions, contact us at info@nameprof.com.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication details, managed through our authentication provider (Supabase).

Usage data. When you use the Service, we record the domain names and queries you check, the checks you run, and your credit usage. This helps us operate the Service, meter usage, and improve our tools.

Technical data. We store a hashed version of your IP address (not your raw IP) to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse, along with basic request metadata such as timestamp and the type of check requested.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details on our servers; we retain only non-sensitive records of your transactions (such as plan, amount, and status) needed to provide and account for the Service.

We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data.

2. How we use information

We use the information to: provide and operate the Service; authenticate your account; meter and deliver credits; process payments and prevent fraud; enforce rate limits and protect against abuse; respond to your requests; improve and develop features; and comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal bases (for users in the EEA/UK)

We process personal data on the bases of: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you request), legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the Service and prevent abuse), consent (where required, e.g. certain communications), and legal obligation where applicable.

4. Sharing and third parties

We share data only as needed to operate the Service, with providers acting on our behalf:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Stripe — payment processing
• Vercel — application hosting
• OpenAI / Anthropic — AI-powered name generation (we send your keyword/query, not your account identity)
• Resend — transactional email (e.g. sign-up confirmation)

When you click a promotional/affiliate offer, you may be directed to a partner's site; that partner's own privacy policy then applies. We may receive a commission for referrals. See our Terms for details.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in and to operate core functionality. Disabling them may break sign-in and other features.

6. Data retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. We retain usage and technical records for as long as needed for the purposes above (e.g. abuse prevention, accounting) and to meet legal requirements, after which they are deleted or anonymized.

7. International transfers

Our infrastructure is hosted in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@nameprof.com. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service.
